2014 ACC St Paul- The Trip

Todays trip started at 6:19AM.  The day quickly became sunny and warm.  Ody whizzed along without a care in the world.

I am always impressed with the Wisconsin River and crosssing the Mississippi River.  I shot some video of both along with the usual remnants of snow this trip always displays as one approaches the Mississippi.  Included in the video is some of the St Paul skyline.  For some reason Garman took me in the back way along the river.

Getting close to going into the loading dock tunnel.  A shot backwards to see the line.

Next you get to get into another line and are handed a loading pass.

After about ten minutes we are allowed in.  I request a level place to unload.  They like to park you on the ramp.  I did that the first year and will not do that again.  Because of the incline your cart wants to run down the ramp.  If you have someone along they can stabilize the cart.  If you are solo it makes the loadin difficult, IMHO.  It took me 6 trips with my cart to move the contents of my vehicle to my booth space.  The following pictures start with the first load at the booth space and the loadin completed.

At this point I moved my vehicle out of the loading dock so others could get in.  Many people start setting up before they have all their stuff unloaded making others have to wait longer to get in.  When I returned from parking my van I got a picture of a nesting dove that love the skywalk that joins the parking ramp to the convention center.  They nestle in amongst the beams outside of the glass.

I continued to set up my booth to quickly discover that I had left my drape and curtains at home.  Blah.  So FEDEX gets their cut to provide a service that I shouldn't need.  I did take a picture facing down aisle 8 to show that many people had set up on Wednesday afternoon.  I think there were more than I remember from previous years.

Continuing tomorrow.
